In 2021 the Yellowknife Playschool Association began working towards answering several of the Calls to Action set out by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada. Teachers participated in Professional Development sessions and read Speaking our Truth by Monique Gray Smith.

Call to Action #14
We incorporate the Wiliideh language into our daily conversations and circles. We invite knowledge holders to share their knowledge during both our indoor programming and our Forest and Nature programming.

We have been incorporating indigenous knowledge during both our indoor programming and our FNS programming.
Call to Action #87
Students have the opportunity to explore the Edukits from the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre. We play games from around the North and read stories about the history of Indigenous people in Sport.
